Mother's Day Out
Directed by Bebe Wilkerson and Claudette Holley
PurposeThe Mother's Day Out Program is designed to provide a safe, loving, Christian environment in which parents can leave their children and have a morning out.
Guidelines
In order to provide quality day care for your children, we have set up the following guidelines.
1. Pre-registration for specific days is strongly advised.
2. Preference will be given to children who are pre-registered for specific days.
3. Although "drop-ins" are accepted in a limited basis, you run the risk of being turned away if the child to worker ratio is at maximum capacity.
4. If you know that your child will not attend on their assigned day, please leave a message at the church office after 8:30am (872-1401) or Leika's (876-9077).
5. There will be no carrying over of days that were not used from the previous month.
Times
Regular Hours are 9am to 1pm on Monday - Friday. Note: Drop-ins must wait until 9:30 to call to leave their children. Drop-ins will be accepted at this time if room is available.
Lunch/Snacks
Children are fed lunch between 11:00 and 11:30 am. Parents are responsible for bringing their child's lunch and snacks in a marked container.
Health and Safety
Your child will only be released to those persons you listed on the release form unless the parent informs the worker otherwise.
No child should attend MDO when visibly ill. If your child is ill on the day before, do not send them. If your child has a clear, runny nose it is OK for him/her to come to school. But if there is any discoloration, we would appreciate that you keep your child at home for 48 hours or until the runny nose is clear. Children should be clear of fever, nausea, diarrhea, etc. for at least 48 hours before returning to school. Children with pink eye should not return to school until after a doctor's visit and he/she has been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours. Your child should not attend MDO when visibly ill. If your child should become ill at MDO, we will try to contact you. If we deem it an emergency, we will call the emergency numbers you have provided on the enrollment form, and when necessary we will utilize the emergency release you have provided.
Call when your child will be absent for any reason. Please report communicable diseases as soon as possible.
If your child needs to be excused from any normal activity such as outdoor play, please let us know.
If your child needs medication given while in MDO, the medication must be clearly labeled with the child's name, time and amount of dosage and your signature. Please provide the dropper or spoon with which to measure the medication.
Fees
Fees should be paid to the staff member checking children in at the door. Fees which are paid by the month should be in the form of a check with your child's name at the bottom. Fees for pre-registered children are due the first day of each month. A late fee of $5.00 will be charged if fees are not paid by the 10th of each month.
