The UMW of Church Street meets quarterly with a dinner meeting and a program of speakers from Church Street and other areas, along with participation by youth members from Church Street. The Senior Pastor is also involved. During the year UMW members are called upon to help out in the church by furnishing food, serving meals, helping with the homebound, etc. The quarterly dinner meetings along with the annual Christmas Tea are great ways for our 3 circles to meet and share together. All women who attend Church Street are invited to join the UMW.Berrey-Plant Circle - Suzanne Stringer, President. This group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 10am in Windham Hall.
Catherine Revel Circle -Caroline Anderson, President; Michele McNeill, Secretary; Leigh Lang, Treasurer. This group meets on the 1st Monday of each month at 6:00pm in homes.We complete many mission projects during each year.
Roberta Sample Circle-Carolyn Dunaway, President; Charlotte Speed, Vice President; Jan Baker, Treasurer; Linda Haskell, Recording Secretary; Gail Hawkins, Corresponding Secretary.
This group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm in homes. We have a covered dish dinner each May at Carolyn Dunaway's home, and a Christmas dinner party at Helen Edwards' each December. We do not meet during June, July or August.
The circle sends money to the UMW district treasurer which included amount in dues for our members, plus an amount to missions.
We fill Christmas stockings and deliver them for residents of a Nursing Home or for our homebound members. We also provide financial support for members of our church family who have special needs.
We invite all ladies who would enjoy being a part of our fun group to join us.
